I would give no stars if possible.

I contracted a 2,000 mile move with Nationwide only to be sub-contracted to a less-than-reputable company (COBRA). They showed up 24 hours late in a Penske rental truck. The “lead” reassessed my house contents and said Nationwide made an error. The estimate is now TRIPLE what Nationwide quoted, and they would not accept a cashier’s or bank check for the additional $5K to the deposit. Only cash or Money Orders.

Trying to call Nationwide, I dealt with “assistants” only. I tried to speak with a Manager at Nationwide, but the driver said he was not a very nice man, and that I wouldn’t want to deal with him.

I sent the men, woman and truck on their way. I refused their service.

I finally spoke with the “Dispatch Manager”, and he promised to send a different crew, a different company, with a different truck.

THE EXACT SAME CREW AND TRUCK SHOWED UP AGAIN. I again told them I was not going to use their service.

I went with another company and attempted to get my $4,100 deposit back from Nationwide. I was offered ½ refund. I had the bank withhold the $4100. And they did an investigation. Unfortunately for me, they ruled in favor of Nationwide. Nationwide lied in their statement saying, “she contracted for and USED the service”. I did not use their service. When I asked for the ½ refund, I was told because I challenged them, they reneged on that too.

I cancelled the contract after the date in the contract, but since they were 24 hours late and tripled my estimate, they breached the contract, so I felt I was right.

I’m a senior citizen, on a fixed income, single female who was taken advantage of by Nationwide. I lost $4,100 that I could not afford to lose, and I found dealing with the "Dispatch Manager", who is a grouchy, condescending crook who makes lots of money for his company taking advantage of people when they are most vulnerable, was a lost cause.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $4100

After TONS of research, I finally decided to move my house with them,  because of their excellent ratings and good pricing. Joe took what I was worried would be a painful experience and turned it into a positive one. He goes above and beyond, following through every step of the way and making sure to be available at all times. After securing my order, . He actually called me back within an hour and had everything all set! The truck drivers were good about giving me advanced notice of their arrival and working with a time that fit best for me. My delivery arrived a day earlier than expected and was in the exact condition  as I gave it to them . I will definitely be recommending Joe to my friends.

Service cost: $4200

This was the absolute worst experience I could have imagined from a moving company. Their phone operators are highly unprofessional and tried quoting me $1k more than the original quote because of our headboard? They picked up our stuff on time and told us they could drop it off 7 days later but said it would take no longer than 21 days. Well it took them 22 days. They promised us that they would reassemble the furniture, which was in the contract, but when they arrived, they said they couldn’t assemble IKEA furniture. On top of that, they completely broke our nightstand and several boxes were busted more than expected for a move. The communication was non-existent throughout the whole service. We had to contact them several times just to even get a timeline for which they would reply “someone will call you 24 hours before they get there.” I don’t even know how this company is in business. They are a bunch of scam artists, highly unprofessional, and don’t care in the least about their promised service to you and your stuff. Never, I repeat, NEVER do business with this company. You will save yourself a lot of money, time, and stress.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3200

I contracted our move from OK to SC with Nationwide Movers in FL. I was never told that they subcontract ALL their moving and storage with other companies. The company that showed up at our house 2 hours late was American Knights out of Dallas, not Nationwide. They were totally unprepared. The truck was to small, it had to be loaded twice to make things fit, the movers took a 15 minute smoke break every hour and if my sister and I hadn't helped we would not have been done before midnight. Also before they started to load the trunk I was informed that Nationwide had not given them accurate weight and I had to pay an additional $180 before they would even start to load. As I was on a time-line for moving I had no choice. I found this hard to believe as I had given away an entire living room set just days before the move and that furniture was on their list for moving. (1 couch, 1 love seat, 2 end tables, 2 lamps and a coffee table) That should have decreased the weight. Now American Knights was to store our household for 2 weeks then deliver it to SC on June 1. They did not show up till June 8, a week late. I called every day and was just told "they didn't have drivers". One of the first things I observed when they arrived was one of the movers throwing one of our boxes off of the truck. Most of our larger items were damaged. Our 10 foot dining room table, 3 of the dining room chairs, the matching 7 foot tall china cabinet, our grandfather clock. Numerous other items were smashed or never showed up. We know that American Knights was aware of the damage as these items had all been wrapped in blankets and taped when they were loaded but some how there were nails where they had tried to repair them. I will never recommend Nationwide Movers or American Knights to anyone I know!  .

 My job required me to move to a new branch, and I’ve used  moving companies in the past. Almost every time something went wrong. For my last move to Atlanta, I decided to give my business to Nationwide Movers. Having moved so many times in the past I knew all the problems that can arise during the move and so did my homework on the company. I spoke to Joseph who assured me about the services, and I decided to let the company do all the packing for my move. The Price Joseph gave me was reasonable, not the lowest on the market, but the service is worth every penny. On the day of the move the guys arrived early in the morning and pack my whole house in just a few hours, , I am very satisfied in the way Nationwide Movers handled my move. .

Service cost: $4650

We moved from MD to CA and never used movers before and we were very scared to be taken advantage of or they wouldn't do their job properly. Contacted Nationwide Movers because of the high rating on the internetI wasn't disappointed Between Joseph  always answering my questions quickly and without hesitation to the actual move it was a good  experience He did go  over our items to be Move. While they came early, the guys   did a great job and even gave us our wardrobe boxes early which helped A LOT! They moved very quickly and efficiently. They handled all the items with care. We had to leave early to go to CA to sign our new lease, so my parents stayed with the movers until they finished. I just want to thank Nationwide Movers for providing a good moving experience.

Service cost: $5400

Where to begin..first, the person who gave me the quote & set everything up blatantly lied to me. He promised that I would not pay a penny over the estimate. But when the movers came; the cost was DOUBLE what I was promised.
Second, I was promised that the movers would arrive between 9-11am. At 11:45am, I tried calling the dispatch & the guy who set the move up. No one answered & no one returned my calls. I had to keep calling until someone picked up. When they did, they were extremely rude and basically told me that they're busy & I should appreciate that they're moving me. Third, again, I was told my delivery would arrive within 3-7 days. That was another lie. I'll be lucky if they deliver within 3 1/2 weeks.
Lastly, there has been no update or communication from the movers themselves. I specifically asked them to text or call me to provide a delivery date. A move that was quoted and promised at 1250.00 has turned into 3350.00! I recommend reading reviews & doing research before selecting a moving company.

I am sorry we picked this mover and strongly suggest to anyone "not" to use them. They picked up our furniture and belongings on May 5th and were extremely unprofessional and left a quarter of our stuff sitting in our kitchen and said they would not fit. They were to deliver to our home in NJ and as of today we do not know where our stuff is and BBB is trying to help us because they don't answer the phone. Also they charged double the price when they picked up. DO NOT USE THIS MOVER.

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: $3168

My husband reached out to Nationwide Movers to have a long haul move completed. He spoke with RON who provided an Estimate which was 3000 dollars less than we were actually charged. The load estimated changed AFTER the entire truck was loaded. Items that weren't to be loaded (even as specified during the initial walk through) were loaded. This is indirect dispute with FCMA guidelines. Trucks were not loaded based on weight (also not complaint with FCMA guidlines). Do your homework don't use this company, no matter what you are told it will absolutely be untrue. If we could give this company a negative 5 star we would. The worst experience ever. Not only was our Furniture and belongings held hostage for double the quoted cost. Many of our items were not received and damaged. We were told many lies and and were treated rudely by everyone at the company. They caused us alot of stress. Our antique table which we told them was very old ans special to us was deliberately destroyed. Boxes were crushed and pictures had water damage. Office desk was destroyed. When we called we were given a bogus link to file a claim. They should not be in business ir alliwed to keep taking advantage of many people. Please do not go with this company. Wish we had read the reviews and done our research before going with them. We know they stole many items as well.

What a Nightmare!!Never,Never,Never, will I use Nationwide Moving in Hollywood Florida..My son passed away 4/3/18.I had to go back home to Cleveland, OH to bury him. I had to move my son's belongings back to CA with me. I hired Nationwide Movers.. Big Mistake!! First, I let Ron know I needed long term storage..I'm in a small apartment in LA. Nationwide replied Oh Yes we offer Long Term Storage Lie number one!! Only to find on July 17th I get a call from a Moving company here in LA stating they had my belongings..Received my belongings only to find my deceased son's TV from his bedroom was Stolen!! My son also had a Smith & Wesson Rifle that was Stolen..also his 2 vacuums foldable shopping cart, Microwave cart, Floor Lamp,Table Top Fan, Antique Telephone Table the Inventory List you're Given is A Complete Joke!! The items the movers plan to Steal Do Not Go On The Inventory Sheet!!,The movers who come to your home see Firsthand what Personal Property you have before they wrap up your belongings for instance the TV's ..I filed a Police Report ..I will seek Legal Counsel on this matter as well.. A Consumer Protection Atty in Cleveland to find out my Legal Recourse at this point!! This is "APPALLING!! I am still dealing with the Lost of my 37 y.o. son..now his belongings got Stolen he is not here to replace any of it!! Where does it state in Nationwide Moving Company Contract where it states the Movers can Shop and Steal Consumers Personal Property??..Nationwide Moving Company in Hollywood Florida needs Prayer!!

I contacted Nationwide Movers and they subcontracted to a company called Moving You 4 Less and what a nightmare I went through. This company was very unprofessional and they blatantly lied about their drivers being employed and about their warehouse being climate and pest control. After having the movers show up a day late to pick up my furniture, I had an even harder time getting it delivered 3 weeks later. They tried to tell me they had 30 days leeway to deliver my stuff from Hollywood Florida. I told them that was unacceptable because I had a vacation planned to move into my new home and I needed my furniture delivered during that time. I ended up having to cancel my vacation because the furniture never arrived and they called me a week later tell me it would be delivered the next day but the next day the driver called and said it wouldn't be until the following day. Many items were broken and most of the boxes were crushed. I had items smashed to smithereens like the boxes had been thrown around and everything was infested with roaches. They tore the legs off my grill and then just threw them inside the grill for me to find later. Moving You 4 Less is a horrible company and if they ever contact you take my advice and DO NOT hire them.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Once our things were loaded they doubled the cost. 1865 SF house and a 500 SF studio cost us over $17000! Original quote was $7900, then 3 days before the move it went to $12,000. When we tried to cancel Heidi told us it was to late to cancel. When we threatened to sue, she laughed and said good luck with that.

Multiple items broken and a quarter of the boxes were not marked. I packed up over half the house and studio myself before they arrived. Worst company ever!!!

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $17000

Lease, please, please do not use Nationwide Move Management, Colonial Van Lines or Moving Squad. This umbrella of companies is a total fraud. I contracted with them for a long-haul move from NYC to Florida. The team showed up at my apartment without the appropriate equipment and used a broom handle to hang my clothes. As you can guess, all of the clothes were delivered filthy and in a heap at the bottom of the boxes. This was just the start of the problems.

Upon delivery, nearly ALL of my items were broken or missing. Specifically:

- Bed Frame (delivered without the tools to reassemble the bed and the hydraulic system).

- Dresser (delivered with a split down the side)

- Sofa (delivered without all of the legs)

- Media Console (delivered in a condition that was hazardous. Moving Squad had to remove from our apartment for safety)

- Television (delivered with a broken screen)

- Lamp (was lost and not delivered)

This inventory list accounts for nearly 100% of the furniture moved from a one-bedroom apartment in NYC. The team flat out lied about the need for insurance. My salesman said multiple times: "you don't need the insurance...it is a waste of money...we treat your belongings as if they are our own"... Total scam artists. $5,000 for the move and $15,000 in damaged/lost goods.

Again, if it is not abundantly clear from the above, do NOT hire this company. I cannot stress this enough, and I am writing this review to protect you and cherished your belongings.

Don’t use Nationwide! They sub out the moving job to other carriers and after that you deal with that carrier. Nationwide didn’t inform us of that and we ended up with Carefree Movers Inc. out of Iowa. They are rated F by the better Business Bureau. We didn’t get our belongings for 5 weeks. We had many lost and damaged items. It was extremely expensive and they don’t answer calls. They don’t care.

Our lawnmower was tipped sideways and oil and gas leaked out all over my glider rocker cushion. Can’t be cleaned. The lawnmower had to be repaired because of this and we had to pay $100. They lost parts to the pressure washer, broke casters of 2 tv stands, a bed frame and a suitcase. Broke 3 floor lamps. We even got a backpack that belonged to some else. We we missing many items. Who knows where they are. Our copier/ printer came smashed. We had to buy a new one. I can’t even list it all. There’s too much!

Our stuff was loaded and unloaded to several different trucks and stored in warehouses. We are totally out. Carefree Movers told us to file an online claim to movingclaims.net. What a joke that is. Impossible to file with the ridiculous information they want. We are in the process of filling a claim with the Florida attorney general.

Again, DON’T USE NATIONWIDE MOVER OR CAREFREE MOVERS INC! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF AND THEY DONT CARE!

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $14000

Nationwide did not advise it is a broker. Was very diligent to book and provide estimate. Once I had to work with intermediary everything was difficult and disorganized pick up and delivery dates were changed last minute and they were unprepared. Nationwide did not help at all when the intermediary would not answer. Very disappointing, I did hire this company because reviews at https://www.top10.com/moving/long_distance

were quite good but the experience has been unprofessional, dissapointing and costly and I do not recommend using them for moving services.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $9000

This is the worse experience I have ever had moving. I paid about 17,000.00 and what i got was worthless. I had furniture I had to replace because the doors on my hutch for my desk no longer close. I have tools that were stolen from our packed totes. Important and sensitive information packed in boxes and sealed where not delivered. We are missing probably 20 boxes. The totes and boxes were delivered smashed and busted the totes. Broke our lamps, scratched our furniture, broke legs on our couch so we had to replace it. I was assured everything would be wrapped and stored if needed. It was stored for what would have been 4 days and we finally got our stuff the following week. Broken and mangled.

Prepare to have to spend another 10 to 20,000 when you get your stuff. It would have been less headache and probably my stuff would have been usable. Thanks For the crappy job. Beware. they must have figured I was elderly so they could take me and that they did.

The vehicles they moved was anotherstory and at an additional cost,but they were delivered on time and in good condition. That was all that was good about the move.

I will advertise to my friends and relatives and have them warn people not to use this company to move. WORSE COMPANY EVER.
